Prerequisites

The student has completed HV311 from the academy OR the student has Chhota Khayal in about thirty five Ragas and is able to present at least 20 Ragas with Swar Vistar, Aalap and Taan. The student is able to present 20 Bada Khayals with development. The Bada Khayal includes Ragas Yaman, Bhairav, Bhupali, Bihag, Bageshri, Bhimpalasi, malkauns, Jaijaivanti, Todi and Darbari. The student is able to compose ones own Sargam Geet/Tarana in the Ragas learnt set to various basic Taals. 

 

 


Overview

Marva is a Gambhir Raga which paints the picture of the sunset with its contemplative Swaras. The Bada Khayal is sung with a peaceful Aalap Badhat. The Bada Khayal is followed by the Chhota Khayal in Marva. 

Raga Jog Madhya Laya Khayal and a Tarana are learnt in this course. Emphasis is laid on the Gayaki and expressions.

Theory- Review of important musical concepts from Brihaddeshi and Dattilam. Study of Raga characteristics of the Ragas sung.
